Adiago GoFundMe Fraud/Deception

If you donated to Adiago’s GoFundMe campaign, were thinking of donating, or know someone who donated, please be aware of the following information.

Adiago recently created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for a service dog, which can be seen here (http://www.gofundme.com/adiservicedog)(archive https://archive.today/UEz6n).  She has raise 4.7k/4k, more than her original goal.  There is a large amount of evidence that this campaign and her claims are exaggerated and/or false, and she has been deceptive about how she says she is spending the money.

Adiago makes the following claims of her history:

Like most people these days born in the 80s or 90s, my parents divorced while I was in my teens. This was an experience I endured with little trouble, my family had been broken and damaged for years and it was ultimately the best outcome. What I didn’t know for years prior or understand in my child brain, was that the level of abuse in my household was on par with some of the worst things you hear about on TV. I decided to move out at 18 and left my home state to pursue an art college and life from home.

• Adiago was born in December of 1987, and was 18 in 2005. By 2007 she had moved out, but it was to live with a boyfriend/fiance (https://archive.today/8m4Yg). She was also living with a different dog, Stormie, which is not mentioned.

• According to her friends, she moved out behind her parent’s back (https://archive.today/3FVEd).

• She is not fully estranged from her mother at this time, as she communicates with her mother in her journal (https://archive.today/SRDBu), and she sends mother’s day gifts (https://archive.today/r1oUI https://archive.today/oJaBU).

• She did not look into at school until 2008, at age 20 (http://i.imgur.com/HeN6v20.png). It is unclear if she ever attended, but it does not appear that she graduated (http://adiadiago.tumblr.com/post/55937849522/b).

• Adiago lived with her mother on and off until 2013.

In short, her name was Lily. Lily wasn’t some ordinary dog. She was born for this job, she was born to help. This was her only desire in the entire world. I’d never experienced a single creature my entire life so in tuned with me. I felt lucky, overwhelmed, emotional, but above all happy. I was more than happy to sit day in and out, teaching her commands, training her in obediance, all the way up to achieving a canine good citizen award. She went on and kept learning, even things I didn’t teach her. Lily adapted to me and before I knew it she was detecting panick attacks before they happened, she was able to retrieve my rescue inhaler at the first signs of an asthma attack, she would know before I even did, that I was having heart problems. This creature learned in only a few short years over 200 words, phrases and commands in several languages. She wasn’t just my companion, she was the thing I treasured most in the world.

every single moment was spent together. She was even allowed to attend my job with me.

Adiago claims that her Australian Shepherd was her service dog. However, she never spoke of Lily as a service dog until this claim, and directly contradicts this in past conversations:

(dawnbluewolf is supposedly Adiago’s mother)

If dawnbluewolf’s reply is true, Adiago was not only abusive to her dogs, but also abandoned Lily to move in with another boyfriend.  Regardless, Adiago states that she left Lily with her parents because the dog was not allowed at the apartment.  This contradicts the claim that Lily was a service dog, as service dogs are allowed to live in apartments regardless of landlord rules. This also contradicts her statements that she was inseparable from Lily, as she left Lily behind after moving.

For 1,500$ I can afford a new service animal, which will be raised from puppy to adult and trained. The breed I have chosen, once again is the australian shepherd. These dogs are with an incredidbly high desire to work and learn, and have high energy. This is the only dog that fits the criteria I need so desperately.

Adiago claims that only the Australian Shepherd fits the criteria for her service dog.  However, five months ago she said the following (https://archive.today/nW7EC):

you do realize, 1 in 5 dogs actually is service dog material right?

and that aussies are NOT a breed for this type of thing? there are enough aussies in this field to count on two hands, they simply are not the correct breed for this.
I know, I own aussies, ive bred aussies, ive loved and been around them for over 10 years. and aussies [as a whole] are not service dog material.

She told another user looking to have an Australian Shepherd service dog that they were a bad breed and rarely became successful service dogs.  She makes no mention of her own supposed service dog.

Actually, aussies die of cancer just as often if not more than goldens. The cancer they die from is also the very same which wipes out german shepherds, lymphoma. How do I know? I lived it. I had an aussie, a show bred, champion bloodline aussie from a fantastic breeder, die at 5 years old. Breeding means nothing when it comes to service animals, in fact most that actually are placed are pups saved from shelters. You’d know that if you’d researched more. I’ll reiterate just because a handful have made it, doesn’t mean yours will. And the amount that DO are so small. Yes, its sad, and they are in fact my favorite breed, which aside from my previous decade of exp with the, breeding, training, etc I can say this is well, not the best move.

She specifically mentioned Lily as an example of why they cannot be service dogs.

It is apparent from Adiago’s own past internet postings that her claims about her and Lily’s history are exaggerated or untrue.

It’s been slightly over a year since I lost my best friend and frankly, the love of my life. I’ve tried to use various forms of therapy to no avail.

Adiago says she has had therapy, but in July of 2014 she was asking for licensed therapists on FA to create an unknown official document for her: (http://i.imgur.com/sjKcvVz.jpg).  It is unclear why she was looking online for a therapist while seeing them IRL.

It should also be noted that Adiago previouly acquired a puppy from a shelter that she was planning to train to be a service dog. She has since rehomed the puppy as it accidentally nipped her, and she declared it aggressive.  The only mention of this puppy remaining is here (http://www.furaffinity.net/full/14602911/#cid:87911894 NSFW).

Since she began successfully funding her campaign, Adiago has been posting what she claims are updates about the puppy she will buy.  These updates are either untrue entirely, or she is attempting to purchase an irresponsibly bred backyard crossbreed puppy and claim it to be a purebred puppy from a reputable breeder.

She posted the following update to her campaign:

The invoice she posts is the following:

Note that the deposit claims to be for an AKC registered purebred Australian Shepherd puppy. There is no mention of who the breeder is.  She posts a separate picture of a puppy she claims she is buying on her FA journal:

She still does not mention the breeder.

In her most recent update:

Adiago states that she has moved her deposit to a future litter to come in the new year, applauds her breeder, and posts a picture of the supposed mother:

She still does not name the breeder, but through a reverse image search the breeder can be found (http://www.7hlquarterhorses.com).  This breeder contradicts everything Adiago has claimed about her new puppy.

Here is the mother on the dogs page:

The puppies that Adiago claims to be buying from are a crossbreed between an Australian Shepherd and a border collie, which she fails to mention.  Looking on the site, the following becomes apparent:

Looking at the puppies page (http://www.7hlquarterhorses.com/Puppies.htm) all litters from 2012 are also crossbreeds.  The picture of the puppy Adiago claimed she was buying previously has very distinct markings, which do not seem to match any of the puppies on the breeder’s page.

Their dogs page (http://www.7hlquarterhorses.com/Aussies.htm) states the following:

None of our dogs are registered.  Some of them could have been though because they were out of registered stock.

Adiago claims she has a deposit on an AKC registered purebred when the breeder does not register their dogs and has been breeding crossbreeds since 2012.

All of the pups will sell for $250 each, any color any sex, no exceptions, and price is firm.  First come, first serve!

At that time you can select the puppy you want and email me and let me know (make sure you have gotten a response from me by phone or email to hold your puppy) and mail your money in (the full amount).

Adiago has a PayPal deposit, while the site states the money must be mailed in full. The puppies are only $250, although Adiago makes no mention of this when her budget for the puppy was $1500. It is unlikely that this is a real screenshot.

Adiago also makes claims about the legitimacy of the breeder, which are systematically false.

They have two aussie mommas having pups on new years eve, and these pups are from a more appropriate background.

The breeder’s three bitches are all working dogs from working lines.  These new litters are from the same mothers as the previous litters. It is questionable if working dogs are appropriate service dogs.

Either way I feel really good about the upcoming litter, the mom is an absolutely GORGEOUS blue merle with stunning blue eyes, and the father is a striking black and white with NO tan.

Adiago makes no mention that the father, Ringo, is a border collie.

they dont breed merle to merle, they dont breed after the mommas are 5 years old, and they breed only once a year sometimes every 2 years depending on momma.

• There are multiple merle x Merle begins on the breeder’s puppy page.

image

It should also be noted that it is stated that Pickles (the bitch Adiago chose)  is a granddaughter of Kaki.  The only puppies shown before 2012 for Kaki are the Merle x Merle breedings.  It is possible that Pickles’ mother was a result of these genetically dangerous breedings.

• Kaki was born in 2008, and is six years old.  She was still bred this year.

image

• Pickles was born in 2012, and is only two years old.  She has already had two litters and is expecting a third. Dogs should not be bred until they are two.  If Pickles reached maturity at 6-8 months, that is three litters in roughly a year and a half.

Adiago says:

I know these pups are coming from people who really care about their dogs too.

This breeder’s website shows other systematic failures to follow good breeding practices.  The breeder states the following:

Vaccines are an extra fee (exactly what ever my vet charges -no markup) and are highly recommended.

The breeder does not vaccinate unless paid to do so.  There is no mention of health tests or health history anywhere for puppies or parents.

The puppies are usually ready to go to their forever homes around 6 weeks of age.  They can stay until the 8th week of age.  After that, I will charge board.  The puppies are very mobile at that age and they make me real nervous that something is going to happen to them!  lol  Although I do my best protecting them, but at that time they will be home alone because all the mommas go to work Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm.

Puppies should stay with the mother until at least eight weeks. The breeder removes the puppies early so that the mother’s can continue working and the puppies are left home alone.

First come, first serve!  They sell fast, so if you want one, speak up, and send your money in (after they are born)!

The breeder does not attempt to find suitable homes for the puppies, and sells to the first person to request it. There is no mention of background checks or any attempts to filter out applicants.

Adiago contradicts herself about having a service dog previously, contradicts herself when she says she requires an expensive purebred dog (that happens to be her favorite breed in her favorite color) and is lying about buying a puppy from an unfit backyard breeder.  It is possible that this GoFundMe campaign was a fraudulent attempt to dupe generous people into buying her a service dog by playing to their emotions with lies and exaggerations. Please be aware.
